Media Generated for
RESULTS, UNICEF and Grameen Bank
These are examples of volunteer media work
I have done working with RESULTS, an international grassroots
citizens' lobby focused on creating the political will to end
hunger and the worst aspects of poverty. RESULTS work works very
closely with UNICEF and the Grameen Bank.
RESULTS identifies sustainable solutions
to the problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and
around the world and works to generate the resources necessary
to make them succeed. It's volunteer partners meet with legislators
and their aides; generate news, editorials, and letters to the
editor, and work in their communities to educate and mobilize
the public
My work with Results included generating
media coverage in the local press and coordinating the production
of media events for the annual release of UNICEF's State of the
Worlds Children Report. Generating newspapers editorials by meeting
with editorial page writers and getting their participation in
issue briefing conference calls was an important part of this
work.
This is not a simply a PR activity but
part of very successful strategic plan. Local news stories, editorials
and letters to the editors are delivered by constituents to congresspersons
and key committee decision makers to demonstrate the political
will and popular support that exists for legislation and Increasing
budget levels for effective sustainable solutions to poverty.
